Takajiro HASEGAWA

Almanak voor 1903

De Nederlandse boekhandel Gent en Antwerpen, Gedrukt bij T. Hasegawa, Tokyo 10,8 x 7,9 cm 8 folded crepe paper sheets, 16 pp. including covers, binding 2 stitches with silk ties. Text in Dutch language. Excellent condition. The first three sheets have a small old fold at the bottom right, see pictures.

An extremely rare and charming work (calendar), in line with the great interest in Japanese art at the end of the 19th century.
It is reported in the literature that the work exists but apparently has not yet been physically seen. >> Baxleystamps > General Information Regarding T. Hasegawa > Publications > Different Language Versions. The fairy tale books were printed in several languages > Dutch – Two books: Shitakiri Suzume 1886 and De Musch Met De Geknipte tong 1892, A Dutch language calendar has also been reported (Almanak voor 1903) Ref.1
There also exists an edition in English: Calendar for 1903, printed & published by T. Hasegawa, Tokyo

10,8 x 7,9 cm 8 gevouwen bladen, 16 pp. inclusief omslag, binding d.m.v. 2 steken met zijden koord.

Een uiterst zeldzaam en bijzonder werkje (almanak), aansluitend op de grote belangstelling voor Japanse kunst eind 19de eeuw.
In de literatuur wordt melding gemaakt dat het werkje bestaat maar blijkbaar nog niet fysiek is gezien. >> Boxlaystamps > General Information Regarding T.
