The American artist Joseph Kosuth, one of the leading figures in conceptual art, who exhibited at the I.C.C. in January 1976, is the author of a number of theoretical texts in which he defines conceptual art as a theoretical investigation into the essence of the concept of art (“Art as idea as idea”).
Most of his essays appeared exclusively in English in journals such as ‘Art-Language’ and ‘The Fox’. The most important texts (1970–1975) have now been published in full for the first time in Dutch and French.” Ref.1
